A rare pair of 18th Century Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Gravies or Sauce Boats in the “English silver” style.
A fine pair of Chinese export porcelain sauce boats, each of elongated oval form, with applied C scroll handles, decorated in underglaze blue with floral sprays and entwined leaves.
Decorated inside with precious objects upon a rocky outcrop beside a small pine tree and flowering peonies. Wonderful detail.
The shape is inspired by antique English silver forms of the same period.
In excellent condition. Typical fritting around the rim, as expected.
Period: Qing Dynasty, Qianlong (1736-1795)
Circa 1750
Good size: 24 (with handle) x 10 x 9 cm
