The bottle comes directly from the producer and is always been kept in flat position in a cellar with perfect conditions of temperature and humidity. The label is excellent, completely readable and intact. The capsule is also excellent and intact. The bottle is base neck filled, almost the original level. Montevertine is an historic Italian wine maker based in Radda in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico. In their vineyards are grown exclusively the traditional varieties of the Chianti area: Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. At Montevertine simplicity, respect, attention to every detail and savoir-faire are the guide of the daily work. Le Pergole Torte is the spearhead of Montevertine. Produced for the first time in the 1977 vintage, it was the first pure Sangiovese vinified in the area of Radda in Chianti. The grapes come from the historic vineyards, planted between 1968 and 1999. It matures for one year in Allier barriques and one year in Slavonian oak barrels.
