In December 1991, the album was certified multi-platinum in the United States for three million copies sold. Cover design The photos, which can be seen on the front and back of the album cover, were taken during the last joint photo shoots by the Beatles on August 22, 1969 on the then newly acquired property at Tittenhurst Park from John Lennon. The photographer was Ethan Russell.
