Knight Class Superb Condition! Original Ribbon The Order of the White Elephant, a royal award depicting the symbol of Siam , was established in 1861 by King Rama IV Mongkut . In 1869 , his successor, the reformist King Rama V Chulalongkorn , changed the statute of the order, as a result of which the award received 5 degrees (following the example of the French Legion of Honor ) [1] , and a medal of the order (two degrees) was also established.
