The Hennessy XO Cognac can look back on a long tradition. It was created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy as the first XO Cognac. The XO stands for “extra old” and refers to storage that must take place in fine Limousin oak barrels for at least 5 years. The Hennessy XO blends 100 different brandies, some of which are over 30 years old. This created an aroma of ripe plums, figs and chocolate. The taste has spicy, sweet notes of cinnamon, cloves, dried fruits and vanilla. The Hennessy XO Cognac is 40.0% vol. bottled.

[Expert's remark: this is the 1970s version, there was a label change circa 1977 - ES]
