1 Murray, Thomas. ‘C-14 dating of Dayak Art/Datation de l'Art Dayak au C-14’. 191 pp.; 51 colour plates, 19th century field photographs from Sarawak throughout, bibliography. Mill Valley, 2015. Hbk.
¶ A bilingual publication (English and French) with the results of 20 years of carbon dating sculptures of Borneo and with discussions of ancient migrations and Dayak belief systems. The book includes a collection of important 19th Century photography.

2 Corbey, Raymond. ‘Jurookng. Shamanic Amulets from Southeast Borneo’. 240 pp.; 190 illustrations, 3 maps, bibliography. Leiden, 2018. Hbk.
¶ Shamans in Southeast Borneo once donned anthropomorphic amulets (Jurookng) strung on a necklace in order to help them deal with the spirit world, in particular when healing the ill. Such figurines, embodying spirits, were also widely carried, or kept, by the common people as a means of protection against malicious spirits, black magic and other dangers.
This abundantly illustrated analysis is based on a lengthy tradition of reports by, among others, colonial officials, missionaries, ethnographers and shamans themselves. It introduces a spectacular set of 64 such as well as similar shamanic amulets, acquired during the 1960s.
Jurookng are understudied, despite their stylistic beauty and richly varied, intriguing iconography. Albeit small in size, in both respects they surpass the majority of the larger manufactured.

3 Corbey, Raymond. ‘Of Jars and Gongs. Two Keys to Ot Danum Dayak Cosmology’. 88 pp.; 62 illustrations, maps, bibliography. Leiden, 2016. Hbk.
¶ 'Of Jars and Gongs' deals with the traditional art of Ot Danum Dayak. Much of their art depicts the journey of the soul of the deceased through a richly variegated spirit world. The present publication offers a comparative analysis of various Ot Danum ritual objects. It draws on a long tradition of ethnographic writing on the area stretching back to the mid-19th century, mainly by German and Swiss Protestant missionaries and Dutch colonials.

4 Klokke, Arnoud.; Mahin, Marko. ‘Along the Rivers of Central Kalimantan. Cultural Heritage of the Ngaju and Ot Danum Dayak. Langs de rivieren van Midden-Kalimantan. Cultureel erfgoed van de Ngaju en Ot Danum Dayak’. 176 pp.; c.200 b/w photographs, 3 maps, glossary, bibliography. Text: Dutch and English. Leiden, 2012. Pbk.
¶ Serving as a Protestant missionary doctor in Central Kalimantan during the early 1950s, Arnoud H. Klokke travelled far up the great rivers to visit villages of the Ngaju and Ot Danum peoples. This book presents a selection of Dr. Klokke's fascinating photographs depicting the exceptional cultural heritage of these Dayak groups as well as a number of objects he collected which are now kept in the National Museum of Ethnology (Leiden, the Netherlands).

5 Gavin, Traude. ‘The Women's Warpath. Iban Ritual Fabrics from Borneo’. 100 pp.; 69 colour illus., 44 in b/w., 3 maps, bibliography. Exh. catalogue Fowler Museum of Cultural History, Los Angeles, 1996. Pbk.
