Cone was developed in close collaboration between FRIIS & MOLTKE Design for Frandsen, which for more than 40 years has developed and produced lamps for hotels worldwide.

FRANDSENS approached FRIIS & MOLTKE's design department with the desire to reuse a cone-shaped lampshade from a series of lamps originally designed for a Parisian hotel chain. They wanted to further develop the form into a new, simple and decorative pendant consisting of a glowing white cone with no shadow effect – a pendant for placement both individually and in different formations with several lamps together.

“By integrating the LED light source into the milled aluminum head, we succeeded in creating a simple three-part lamp without shadow effects. The use of aluminum also adds exclusivity to the beautiful lampshade, which consists of the extremely durable material polypropylene. In addition, aluminum absorbs the heat from the LED light source, which extends the life cycle of the lamp", says Mikkel Bahr, head of design at FRIIS & MOLTKE.
