Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Morgeot Les Grands Clos" Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay is a well-regarded wine producer based in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. Although the area is best-known for its Chardonnay-based wines, the Coffinet-Duvernay holdings are roughly evenly between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The domaine produces a small range of both red and white wines. The estate covers roughly seven hectares (15 acres), predominantly in Chassagne. Top holdings include the Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru and the premiers crus La Maltroie, Dents de Chien, Blanchots Dessus and Cailleret. Other sites include the village-level Les Voillenots, which provides much of the domaine's Pinot Noir. Grapes are hand-picked and, in the case of the white wines, pressed and settled before racking to barrel. Around one-third of the barrels are new oak and battonage (lees-stirring) is only rarely employed.
