Nice ancient Egyptian cartonnage fragments with column of hieroglyphic text. These cartonnage fragments have an interesting provenance. They come from the Commandeur Marius Cazeneuve (1839-1913, he was a French stage magician, who became a close friend of the queen of Madagascar, Ranavalona III) collection; he got a lot of antiquities from his friend, the noted Egyptologist and Director of the Cairo Museum, Gaston Maspero. Some time after that it was in the collection of Lucien Clergue (1934 - 2014) a French photographer, who had a friendship with Picasso. The buyer will get a copy if the relevant pages from the auction catalogue of Deforme & Collin Du Bocage, were these fragments were sold (2014).
