Very large Chinese porcelain charger, marked –China- Republic period
On offer is a large and much sought after rare charger dish with a decoration of a popular novel dating to the 18th Century. At the back side this charger dish is marked with a 4 character seal mark. The decoration is a scene from the novel “Dream of the red chamber” with Jia Baoyu and the twelve beauties of Jinling. It is considered to be one of the four great classical novels of Chinese literature! A rare décor in excellent details. Big size. Rare with yellow background and all 13 figures. Nice finished foot rim. Provenance: Private collection of Ye Hua Chinese Art 2023.
Date: Republic period 1950-1960.

Condition: Excellent; minor traces of wear and tear only. No chips, no frits, no hairlines!
