A fine and rare manuscript page from a damaged and incomplete Koran, scribed for the Kashmiri Nawab (sovereign ruler) Amiu Khau in 1727. As a Royal work it is of the highest quality and of a size which its owner could hold without difficulty. The folio contains the final verses of Chapter 88 Al-Ghashiyah (The Overwhelming Event) and the first four verses of Chapter 89 Al-Fajr (Dawn).
The folio consists of a single leafs scribed in bold 'nashki' black ink on thin paper. It contains eight (8) lines of scripture and twelve (12) verses indicated by simple gold 'aya', and is divided 3/4 of the way down by a beautiful SurHijrah heading scribed in white Thuluth within a gold cartouche, inside an elaborate frame. The lower right highly decorative marginal indicates the change of Chapter.
The folio is in good condition.

查看翻譯Fast delivery, good and safety packaging!
查看翻譯Outstanding. Quick, perfectly packaged, and exactly as expected.
查看翻譯My item arrived extremely quickly - many thanks for the excellent service.
查看翻譯Pièce was exactly as described and delivered very quickly
查看翻譯Was very satisfied until I found out that the manuscripts are held to the mount by adhesive tape impossible to remove without damaging the manuscripts. Who the hell puts tape on old manuscripts?!
查看翻譯We do show the mounting in the photographs that are provided for the auction. The tape we use is acid-free mounting tape and placed on the outer margins of the manuscripts on the reverse side.
Carefully packed, arrived in best condition

查看翻譯Arrived very well packaged and padded. Go easy perhaps on the protective tape over the glass. It's the wrong type of tape. I can't remove it to see the painting !! But thanks all the same Rob
查看翻譯Glad it arrived safely but disappointed the tape is proving difficult to remove. I hadn't realised we had taped the glass. Will you be able to resolve?
