Bought directly to CVNE winery in 2011.
Stored in private cellar up to today. Outstanding storage conditions and very high filling level. Fully mature and therefore drinking well now or cellar for the next 25-30 years.

The CVNE winery was one of the great cornerstones of classic Rioja and the magnificent legacy left by the previous generation is reflected like never before in the 1962 Viña Real, which is undoubtedly among its main achievements. This is a great vintage from Viña Real that could still need a few more years of bottle aging to fully bloom and should prove to have decades more life ahead of it.

It's really splendorous, polished, elegant, intense, subtle and chameleonic, full of spices, autumn forest aromas, smoke, meat, and fruit, again with echoes of a strong percentage of Garnacha in the blend. Tonight the 1962 was above 1964, 1966 and 1968. A truly spectacular bottle".
