Nanking Chinese Shipwreck Porcelain Cargo Rare Enamelled Mug c1750
This interesting mug is beautifully hand decorated in under glaze blue with a peony tree issuing from rock work on a terrace.
This example is particularly rare insomuch as it has retained a large amount of its coloured enamelling. It really is most eye catching.
These mugs were especially ordered by the VOC. (The Dutch East India Company).
