This table linen is from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of 1900, and it is becoming rather rare to get a complete set of table linen as most of the napkins have" left" the table linen due to intensive wear and tear and are abandoned. This is a superb old table service in white damask linen with leaf patterns. It consists of a tablecloth and 11 matching napkins. ( 92CM X 75CM ) The tablecloth is decorated with two pretty large B D monograms, hand embroidery and are positioned opposite each other, size of each monogram 9 cm wide by 5.5 cm high The 11 napkins match the tablecloth ,each has the same weaving and in part lower in the center the same monogram B D as the tablecloth, but smaller 4.5 cm x 2.5 cm The napkins are very large . The table set is in very good condition and virtually new and little used by the looks of it. Each piece is hemmed by hand. You will notice the hand embroidery of the unusual satin stitch letters of 2 red and white colours.
