1940-50s US railway hat to a ‘’Brakeman’’ of the ‘'New York Central System'’ (NYCS), the famous New York City railway company. Wicker made, patent leather visor. American Hatters certification and authentication interior label, surrounded by a period typical orange lining. There is a very small black cloth patch on the back (see photos). Other than this the hat is in good condition. Size 7 ⅛ (UE 57). In the last 2 photos (not included), the famous trains 'Mercury' and '20th Century Limited', both designed by the legendary Henry Dreyfuss for the NYCS, as seen on the front of the locomotive.
