Robert Capa, Dead bodies, Battle of Teruel, Spain, Dec. 1937- Jan. 1938.
It was because of scenes like this that the legendary Hungarian photographer decided to publish the only chronicle he wrote during the Spanish Civil War. He did it on January 8, 1938 in "Ce Soir", the French newspaper where Henri Cartier-Bresson and David Seymur also collaborated, with whom he would later found the Magnum agency. Both sides were aware of the importance of the battle of Teruel and, two weeks earlier, they had respectively mobilized a series of Spanish and foreign correspondents with a clearly propaganda objective.
