1971 Rover P6 B 3500 V8. This car is a French registered car from new with lhd, now on a carte grise de collection. Bodywork: two minor paint bubbles and one or two very minor scratches. Mechanics: the non-original four speed auto gearbox ZF4HP22 needs a custom length cable for the original disconnected speedometer to work and the car uses a GPS speedometer instead. The kilometrage shown on the original unit therefore does not show the 2499 kilometers registered on the GPS unit in the current ownership. The rev counter has been modified to work with the new electronic distributor and coil fitted in 2019 but regrettably the tip of the needle has since been broken and therefore reads slightly high. It can be recalibrated or a new needle fitted. Access is simple. Service and maintenance: since 2019, the car has had 4 new Michelin tyres and a stainless silencer system. The carburettors were rebuilt and a 12v fuel pump fitted. In 2023 the power steering pump was rebuilt and in June/July the car was given an oil and filter service and the rear disc pads were renewed. - All four rear universal joints were renewed together with the De Dion tube gasket. - The rear brake flexis were replaced with new items and the fluid in the system changed. - The indicator switch had failed and was repaired minus the klaxon facility which was rewired with a red button close to the steering wheel. A new complete switch has been found and will be provided with the car, as will the original distributor, coil, and large steering wheel. - New front gas shock absorbers were fitted after the contrôle technique. Earlier in the year with ambient temperatures in the high thirties the car did not overheat, but had one instance of vapour lock in a traffic jam, the fuel system has since been insulated but not tested. The car does not have air conditioning but the ventilation system is efficient. The car would benefit from a new carpet. The car is kept in Massignac, France and is being sold to make space in the garage .
