The Glenrothes distillery was founded in 1879, located next to the river that runs through the town of Rothes. This area of central Speyside is very famous for the quality of its single malt, a quality that has made the town famous.
This whiskey owes its quality to the careful production, in which the pure mountain water used in the process is of great importance. Part of this elaboration is the choice of high quality American oak barrels that have contained bourbon, and Spanish oak barrels that have contained sherry. Each bottle of The Glenrothes has its distillation and bottling date, which gives it a special touch.
