Starting from an idea by Rolf Niepoort, his son Dirk first contacted Álvaro Castro in 2000 to create Dado. The idea was to create the ideal wine, combining the elegance and longevity of Dão with the concentration and structure of Douro. Deep ruby ​​color, complex aroma with floral and red fruit notes typical of Touriga Nacional, spicy and mineral. In the mouth it is engaging with lively acidity, present but soft tannins, very fine fruit and an impressive structure, long and persistent finish. A wine with great longevity.
