DESCRIPTION
The Quinta's vineyards have a long-recognized history of producing wine, dating back to the 19th century. This is the conclusion drawn from books specializing in types of strains and from some of the abandoned terraces, known as "mortoriums". At the beginning of the 1970s, the company changed from a sole proprietorship into a limited liability company under the name - Sociedade Agrícola Barros S.A..
In May 1998, the company changed its name to VALLEGRE -Vinhos do Porto, S.A., resulting from the merging of the names of two of its most important Quintas - Valle Longo and Vista Alegre - but retaining its markedly family nature that spans five generations.
Thus, VALLEGRE is a private, family-based, modern, entrepreneurial and dynamic company. Creativity, Innovation, Quality, Customer Satisfaction´s Principles, Well-being of employees and Respect for the Environment, are laid down in the Mission, Vision and Values of the Company.
The production of DOC (Controlled/Protected Denomination of Origin) wines continues to be its primary aim: DO Porto, DO Douro and DO Moscatel Douro of the highest quality which are nationally and internationally renowned. VINIFICATION
Vinification according to the traditional Port Wine method. After gentle crushing with partial stemming, alcoholic fermentation with skin maceration follows. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperature and is interrupted by the addition of wine spirit. The entire winemaking process, which is monitored by the oenology team, takes into account the grape varieties, their degree of maturation and the desired sweetness. This Limited Edition 20 Year Tawny is a very special batch created through the art and magic of the "blend", through careful choice, of wines from the best vintages that remind us of the history of the region, such as the years 1995, 1997 and 2000. These wines, which are aged in oak casks, are religiously stored in our cellars, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region.

TASTING NOTES
Amber color, with brownish details. Elegant and aromatic aroma, due to prolonged aging in oak wood, displaying a wide variety of dried fruit aromas, such as hazelnut and almond, highlighting notes of cinnamon and vanilla. Fresh and velvety taste. It reveals a harmonious structure and great involvement. Long and delicate finish.

SERVING
It should be served at a temperature between 10º and 12º C. Excellent accompaniment to desserts made with chocolate, dried fruits, spices (cinnamon) and caramel. It also pairs well with coffee and chocolates. As Port Wine is a natural product, it is susceptible to creating deposits. It must be served carefully so as not to cloud it. Keep the bottle upright at a constant temperature and away from intense light. After opening, consume, preferably, within 20 to 26 weeks.
