During its rapid descent and cooling, the material solidified, producing glass with a high silica content, typically around 70–80%, along with trace elements that are unique to the impact site.

This translucent gemstone glows with vibrant shades of forest and olive green, displaying intricate surface textures often described as etched or wavy, a result of erosive forces in the atmosphere and natural weathering over millennia.
