Very rare and large historical specimen from the Romanian Turt mine.
It is a pseudomorphosis of siderite on calcite with an original spherical shape.
As can be clearly seen, the specimen is made up of numerous hemispherical formations of brown siderite (formerly calcite) with a slightly shiny surface.
The largest siderite is present on the edge of the specimen and has a maximum diameter of 4 cm.
The matrix is covered by brown siderite crystals with white fibrous calcite.
The back of the mineral is rough, gray in color with isolated crystals of siderite and minor pyrite.
The measurement of 7 cm refers to the maximum thickness of the matrix up to the top of the hemisphere located in the central area of the mineral.
