Old german 4/4 violin, made in Mittenwald, labelled: Josef Kloz in Mittenwald an der Iser anno 17??.
The instrument remains in a very good ready to play condition with no cracks or repairs. New boxwood set up, new bridge and pirastro strings.
The ribs, scroll, one-piece back made of beautiful softly flamed maple.
The top of high grained spruce.
The original golden amber varnish has tears and wears.
LOB measures 356 mm. The total length of the violin is 593 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 161 mm; middle bouts: 107 mm; lower bouts: 198 mm.
