Magnificent large Art Deco porcelain sculpture of a happy “Pierrot”, designed by the famous artist Anton Büschelberger(1869 - 1934) for Karl Ens Porcelain Manufactory, in excellent condition.
The sculpture depicts a happy Pierrot sitting on a column while holding a wine chalice in his right hand and head slightly bended.
Wonderfully crafted and hand painted, detailed face expression, all dressed in shades of blue with gold embellishments, this is a rare collector item from the Art Deco period.
Anton Büschelberger (1869 -1934) worked as a freelancer for Karl Ens porcelain factory in Thuringia Rudolstadt-Volkstedt. This cooperation ended in 1931, when the factory was hit by the economic crisis.
It is in excellent condition, marked on the back of the base with Ens “Mill” mark on Green colour (1919- 1945), impressed marked with artist’s initials A.B. on the back side of the column, NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
