Here is a remarkable old time specimen of red vanadinite from Apache mine near Globe district, Arizona!
It displays a large face coated in perfectly crystallized lustrous red vanadinite kegs. Notice the crystal size gradient from smaller kegs at the bottom to larger ones at the top.
Under the lense, very small and fine crystals occur all around the specimen and could make beautiful microphotographies.
The matrix is a quartzitic vein, probably with disseminate sulphides.
Beautiful and hard to come by vanadinite from Arizona!
