The No. 5 is the fifth instalment in the hugely popular editions series from the famous Speyside distillery and it is now also one of the most sought after of the six expressions in the range to date.

The fifth edition could also be called the Patone Color Special:
The Macallan Edition No.5 celebrates both The Macallan’s commitment to 100% natural color and the intricacy of the whisky making process. For this Edition, world renowned color masters at the Pantone Color Institute created a uniquely bold shade of purple to highlight the equally complex process involved in The Macallan whisky making.

100% natural in colour, all of our exceptional whiskies from The Macallan are shaped from time spent in the very best casks; maturing, nurturing and developing character. World renowned colour masters at the Pantone Color Institute created a uniquely bold shade of purple; reflecting an enigmatic, multi-faceted and intricate combination of red and blue.

Aromas of vanilla, toffee, ginger and pear open the experience. The palate is fresh and sweet with notes of caramelized pear, poached peaches, nutmeg and ginger.
