【Product details】

This intricately carved wooden statue depicts the Thousand-Armed Kwan Yin (Guanyin), a revered Bodhisattva in Buddhist tradition. Known for embodying infinite compassion and wisdom, Kwan Yin is believed to use her thousand hands to assist and save all sentient beings without exception. Each hand represents her boundless mercy and her commitment to relieving suffering. As one of the Six Kwan Yin forms, this deity holds a significant place in the hearts of devotees, symbolizing compassion that reaches all.

The base of the statue is inscribed with the date Enkyō 5, Year of the Dragon, 7th month, auspicious day (1748).

The statue shows signs of wear, patina, dirt, and age-related stains. The nose of the Kwan Yin has a small chip, and the larger base has a noticeable crack with several chips in the decorative elements. The upper section of the halo has a minor chip, and one of the right arms has a visible crack. Some hands and the lotus platform show small chips, with scratches also present on the back of the halo. The very bottom base shows signs of deterioration, and the statue has a slight wobble. Please refer to the photos for further details.
