This linen covering is part of a set of nine bandages from the same mummy, which, thanks to the inscriptions on the bandages, can be identified as Harpakhem. The bandages are made from a single sheet of pure linen, which gives them a robust but flexible texture. The inscriptions are in black ink, which is well preserved as the scribe did not change brushes at any point, so the bandages were not affected by the corrosive effect of the thick ink. However, the factory has some conservation problems due to the oils and resins used by the embalmers, which have caused small lumps and stains to appear on the bandages.

The text written on these bands is a fragment of Chapter 163 of the Book of the Dead, which comprises a rather long incantation intended to ensure the physical preservation of the deceased, general well-being and freedom of action in the afterlife.

The fragment of the chapter collected in these bands reads as follows:

"I am the Soul of a god. But my body rests large and inert in the city of At-Habu; the Genie of this place expands his protection over the inanimate Body of Harthi. His mangled arm rests in the marshes of Senhakarha... O divine Soul, the beating of thy heart is not perceived either in rising or setting! Thou art at rest, O Soul! Beside thy divine body, lying in the city of Sehna-Paikana".
