The real gem of Sardinia Teularju is a small family-run winery located in Mamoiada, in the heart of Sardinia. A place that has always been considered as the land of choice for the red grape variety symbol of the island, the cannonau. The company, founded in 2016, boasts 8 hectares of vineyards conducted under a certified organic regime since 2019, and divided into 4 different plots, different in terms of exposure and soil composition, locally called "ghiradas". The vineyards are located at altitudes between 570 and 630 meters above sea level, with north-east exposure and soils composed of granite sands. Conditions that favor the production of reds with an innate elegance. It is the tradition of the place to harvest and vinify the single parcels separately, as authentic crus, and Teularju, in full respect of the ancient customs of Mamoiada, has decided to proceed in this direction, so as to bring the distinctive features of the original ghirada into the glasses. Spontaneous fermentation is carried out by the yeasts present on the skins and involves a long maceration on the skins. The wine is then left to mature for 12 months in large wooden barrels, before bottling. A great red, faithful expression of one of the most suitable areas of Sardinia.
