There are independent bottlers, and then there is Compass Box, founded in 2000 by John Glazer, who coined the term "whiskymakers" in an attempt to further explain their approach to the craft, based on innovation and experimentation, expressed in the perfect blend of art and science for every whisky produced. This concept is clearly articulated in Stranger & Stranger, which is born from a very particular recipe: it starts with a base of grain distillate aged for at least 2 years in American white oak barrels, then blended with other whiskies to create the final blend. The label is also the result of a charming graphic project, with just over 4,000 copies in existence.

It has a brilliant straw-yellow color with golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals notes of wood and sweet spices, barley candy, and oatmeal, with almost milky hints and touches of citrus. The taste is warm, smooth, full, and engaging, particularly notable for the dark sugar note that emerges in the second sip, and it is very captivating with its long, herbaceous finish.
