Mercedes-Benz - 200 TE W124 - 1993

OVERVIEW/CONDITION
January 1993 Mercedes 200 TE, W124 serie.
ASI certified.
Only two owners from new, the first from 1993 to 2018 and the second from 2018 up to date.

Car in good-fair conditions, shows a few dents and scratches but overall really not bad for a 31 year old car.
He was 55 years old back in November 1992 when the first owner purchased this car at the local Mercedes Dealership (Interauto in Modena, that no longer exists) that was just a few meters from where he lived trading his old 200T W123 with 350.000 Km.
He was a Mercedes enthusiast and as a Bosch power tools Sales Manager a real supporter of german cars.

The car was delivered to him in January 1993, therefore is one of the very last pre-facelift of the W124 that occurred in June 1993 (and would also have changed it's name in E-200T).

The first owner kept this car as a jewel, always servicing the car at the local Mercedes centre until the Garage closed down the business in 2002, since there was no local availability of other Offical Service Centre (the new Mercedes Dealer would have opened only 12 years later, in 2014) he kept servicing his Mercedes at a Bosch Car Service.

The car always stayed in the same city, Modena and there the new owner will take possess in 2018 at that time the first owner was already 81 years old and no longer able to drive it.

The car drives magnificently, starts at first turn of the key, the Bosch K-Jetronik works brilliantly with no hesitation or bogs or any other defect in the power delivery.

The gearbox and the clutch are smooth.
Suspensions are excellent, the SLS (self leveling suspension) at the back works perfectly.

The alternative service book shows many important parts that have been replaced in the last years like:
-front shock absorbers and supports
-rear exhaust silencer
-fuel pump and filter
-front and rear brake discs + pads
-engine radiator, thermostat, hoses

Furthermore, an extensive service has been carried by the new owner in 2018 with all the fluids, oils, filters, spark plugs, spark plugs cables, distibutor and 4 brand new tires.

Defects you cannot see:
-the rear right wheel bearing is noisy
-the AC system has a leak and the system mantains the charge only for a short period of time
-the driver's seat longitudinal movement mechanism is defective
