Ancient Egyptian Faience Eye Of Horus Amulet
Circa 664-332 BC
This faience amulet, shaped like a wedjat-eye, serves as a symbolic representation of the eye of Horus, embodying themes of rebirth and recovery. The myth associated with the wedjat-eye involves the god Horus losing an eye during a battle with his uncle Seth, seeking retribution for the murder of his father, Osiris. Seth gouged out Horus's eye, which was later restored and healed by Thoth, the god of wisdom.
