Heavy and shiny gold painted this is a spectacular plate to be displayed on cabinets. Extremely rare!
Floral painting on porcelain has a long tradition at the Meissen manufactory that has grown continually throughout the ages and continues on to this day.
Based on the still life paintings of the Old Masters, roses began to appear as a motif in porcelain painting in 1740. Initially in bouquet form, the rose became popular as a single motif in the following Marcolini period. The graceful “MEISSEN Rose” was developed from these paintings in the Biedermeier period.
It is in excellent to pristine condition, First Choice, marked with Meissen blue crossed swords mark of the period (1924 - 1934/ Pfeiffer Era), NO grinding lines, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
