18th century painting. Italian school with a rare iconography of the Virgin and Child: the Virgin and Child are depicted in separate medallions (and not in the same medallion as is the traditional manner), against a background decorated with floral motifs.
Oil on panel, set in an antique box frame and protected by glass.
Some wear, signs of age, craquelé, minor restorations.
Approximate dimensions: 28.8 x 19.5 cm (painting) and 29.8 x 19.5 cm (box frame).
Provenance: private collection in the region of Rome.
