These elegant hanging scrolls showcase the traditional beauty of Japanese art through two stunning compositions by renowned artists Shūsestsu and Shuka.

Peacock by Shūsestsu (秀雪):
This scroll features a majestic peacock perched on a pine tree branch, a symbol of beauty, prosperity, and elegance. The vibrant colors of the peacock's feathers contrast beautifully with the delicate pine needles, creating a harmonious blend that captures the grace of this magnificent bird. Shūsestsu’s meticulous brushwork and use of rich pigments bring a sense of life and movement to the scene.

Cranes, Pine, Plum, and Turtles by Shuka (珠香):
This scroll depicts cranes under a pine tree, accompanied by blossoming plum branches and turtles at the base. These elements, often used in Japanese art, symbolize longevity, resilience, and good fortune. Shuka’s composition masterfully combines these motifs, enhanced by the warm glow of the setting sun in the background, creating a serene and auspicious scene. Only the scroll depicting Cranes, Pine, Plum, and Turtles comes with a wooden box.

Both scrolls are mounted on silk, with traditional patterns that complement the artwork.
The scroll ends (jikusaki) are made of wood and bone, adding a classic touch to each piece.
