Gorgeous, finest quality porcelain sculpture of Isadora Duncan American dancer from Karl Ens Porcelain Manufactory. Excellent - flawless - condition. Young lady surrendering herself completely to her dance in light pink and buttercoloured softly falling dress, barefeet, with her arms held up high gracefully. Wonderfully crafted and painted face expression and hair. Hands are detailed to the littlest fingernails, the light fall of the dress is designed expressively and shows the lines of the lady's body and legs. Designed in Jugendstil style by Anton Büschelberger around 1920. Dimensions : 32 x 16,5 x 11 cm Marked on the bottom of the base with the painted green ENS mill mark. "ENS Germany" It is a rare find and is sought after by collectors. Isadora Duncan (1877-1927): she was considered as the founder of modern dance. She abandoned classical ballet traditions and danced to classical music and her movements were conducted "in the name of naturalness" by ancient greek samples.
