Rare Indus Valley style Bronze Zebu Bull Figurine

This charming bronze figurine depicts a zebu bull, freestanding on four short, sturdy legs. The creature is modelled with naturalistic precision, capturing the characteristic hump over its shoulders and a tail that hangs loosely along its back. The head is finely detailed, featuring a protruding snout, large staring eyes, prominent ears, and massive, sweeping horns. A well-defined dewlap hangs from the bull's neck, enhancing its realistic appearance.
The zebu bull, a domesticated species of cattle originating from the Indian subcontinent, is distinguished by its distinctive hump and loose skin, especially around the neck and chest. Zebus are well adapted to hot climates, making them ideal for regions where other cattle might struggle. Their prominent hump stores fat, which serves as a source of energy and hydration in arid environments.
