This is a beautifully crafted and vividly colored wooden Noh doll titled "Soshibai Komachi," representing a classical Noh drama figure. Carved and painted by the artist Noro Tenjun, the doll exhibits fine detail, particularly in the dynamic folds of the clothing and the expressive face. The doll is standing on a wooden base, with an engraved signature "Tenjun" visible on the side. The intricate patterns on the kimono and the ceremonial fan held by the figure showcase the artist's skill in achieving depth and movement within the piece, making it a striking example of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

The doll is housed in a wooden box, which bears inscriptions related to its use as a wedding commemorative item. However, there are noticeable signs of wear and aging. The box has minor damage, and the doll itself shows small scuffs, mold, stains, cracks, and dirt in some areas (as seen in the photos). Notably, there are chips and a crack on the back of the figure. Despite these imperfections, this piece remains a remarkable collector’s item with cultural significance, offering an authentic representation of Japanese Noh theater.
