TEAC TASCAM 38, a true workhorse of the semi-professional 8 track boasting years and years of Tascams multitrack experience behind it. The 38 is arguably one of the most advanced 8-track recorders of its era. The Tascam 38 allows for different types of controls from foot pedal (or similar) punch-in, other remote alternatives, pitch control (band speed) etc. After checking with TEAC/TASCAM, the manufacturing year cannot be narrowed down further than to between 1984-89. This beacuse this is the total production years of this Tascam 38 model. Further clues to further narrow the exact manufacturing year can, for inquiring minds, be found by removing the panels and checking the dates on pots et cetera. Everything runs and works the way it should. The light in track 7 input volume meter is dark (see pic 5) but it has no impact on performance of recording. The 8-rack is ready for recording as is but would love a little cleaning and general TLC ofcourse nonetheless! Shipping will be done in a custom wooden crate (see last picture) for extra safety.
