查看翻译孔雀釉栏杆瓷花瓶 - 瓷 - Tsutako Matsuyama 蔦子松山2代目 (Matsuyama Gaei II) (1920-?) - 日本 - 昭和时代,约 1972 年
编号 88172419
A beautiful, large porcelain vase of baluster shape, adorned with a stunning Kujaku glaze 孔雀釉 (peacock glaze) in shades of soft blue transitioning into bright purple, accentuated by green dots reminiscent of the eyes on peacock feathers. The broad baluster form culminates in a wide circular mouth.
The underside with a 2-character name seal.
The Kujaku kiln 孔雀窯 was established in Tominaga, Tatsuno, Hyogo Prefecture, by the first-generation Matsuyama Gaei 松山雅英, who was inspired by Chinese ceramics during his time in China as an envoy following the Sino-Japanese War. Upon his return to Japan, with guidance from Kyoto master Kiyomizu Rokubei 清水六兵衛, he began producing ceramics initially known as Tatsuno ware 龍野焼, which later evolved into the renowned Kujaku-yaki 孔雀焼, celebrated for its unique iridescent peacock feather-like appearance.
Tsutako Matsuyama 蔦子松山 (Matsuyama Gaei II), born in 1920, was the wife of the kiln’s founder. After his passing in 1963, Tsutako continued the legacy, mastering and enhancing the signature peacock glaze. Her dedication to preserving the traditional beauty of Kujaku ware, while introducing contemporary elements, earned her recognition, including a solo exhibition in Paris in 1974. The tradition has since been passed to her daughter, Kazuko.
Period: Japan – Shôwa period, circa 1972.
