I offer a nice Taisho Era (1912-1926) fireman's hat made with the traditional sashiko style.
The hood has a large circular base to form a protective cape over the neck and shoulders.
Interesting the character used on the top meaning extinguishing. Symbol of firefighters.
Sashiko (刺し子, lit. 'little stabs') is a type of traditional Japanese embroidery or stitching used for the decorative and/or functional reinforcement of cloth and clothing. Indigo-dyed blue cloth in historical Japan, sashiko has a distinctive appearance of white-on-blue embroidery, though some decorative pieces may also use red thread like in this case.
In quite good conditions, some signs of wear and stain as seen in the photos.
The hat is in the EU therefore no hidden import taxes withing the European Union.
