Late 19th century Portuguese navette ring fashioned in Historicism / Gothic Revival style. Mounted in 18ct yellow gold and sterling silver, the ring is centred with a vibrant oval French cut ruby. The intricately designed openwork gallery is adorned with single-cut diamonds, arranged in an elaborate scrolling fashion that emphasizes the Gothic Revival influence. The diamonds add a subtle sparkle to the ring, enhancing the rich red hue of the central gemstone. The combination of gold and silver in this piece, along with its ornate design, makes it a striking piece of statement jewellery. The ring is housed in a Victorian jeweller's retail case. Assay mark to the exterior of the band depicting "E" over a boat.
