This is a Japanese hanging scroll from the Edo period. The total measurements are 188×63 cm. If we take into account only the work, it would be 113.7 x 49 cm.
This hanging scroll (or kakejiku) is, like most of this type, rectangular and is decorated with a type of elegant callygraphy, with precise lines. The characterizations and details (vegetation...) of the author can be identified with the Rinpa school.
The washi paper has certain signs of wear (visible in the photos) due, obviously, to the age of the work, yet it is maintained in an enviable way.
Basically, it is a piece of history.
