Chateau de Beaucastel 2011 Long considered one of the greatest wines in France, Château de Beaucastel is unanimously renowned for its balance, elegance and aging capacity. Beaucastel has an extraordinary terroir at the northern tip of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, very exposed to the Mistral. The thirteen grape varieties of the appellation have been grown organically since the 1960s. The 2011 vintage is a contrast vintage. Very hot and dry spring, early July rainy then Indian summer until the end of October. A very important sorting, especially after stripping, allowed the realization of a very beautiful vintage, especially for late grape varieties. Color almost black. Very thin and powerful nose at the same time, red fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry, spices, thyme and lavender. Beautiful, ample and flexible mouth attack. Fig, cherry, blackberry, compote fruits... are supported by a beautiful acidity. The tannins are present but extremely fine. A great vintage from Beaucastel.
