The Classic became the world’s original cask-finished single malt Scotch whisky, the making of which involved maturing the liquid in one cask, before transferring it to finish maturing in another.

David's creativity
In creating The Balvenie Classic in 1982, David pioneered cask finishing. This has led to decades of innovation in the Scotch malt whisky industry.

Creating a classic
The Balvenie Classic is back. Aged in American Oak, and then finished, once again, in sherry casks. The Creation of a Classic celebrates David's creativity.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet smelling with vanilla, ginger and caramel.
Palate: Gingerbread, oatmeal, toffee and stone fruit with spicy clove and cinnamon.
Finish: Spicy finish with a hint of wood tannin.
