A rare chinese blue and white porcelain 'Shi Lions' bowl, Ming dynasty, 16th / 17th century, Wanli period (1572-1620). Finely potted with round walls rising from a short tapering foot, painted in rich cobalt-blue tones around the exterior with three lions amidst floral scrolls; the base with an underglaze-blue four-character mark, the interior with a medallion with flowers within a blue circle and double blue line under the top-rim.
