Kōitsu Tsuchiya (1897–1987) was a Japanese ukiyo-e and woodblock print artist who played a prominent role in the shin-hanga movement during the Showa era. Known for his beautiful woodblock prints depicting landscapes and famous tourist spots, Koitsu was born in Tokyo and showed talent as a ukiyo-e artist from an early age. He later studied under the renowned ukiyo-e printmaker, Kobayashi Kiyochika. His works are acclaimed for their intricate coloring and meticulous technique, earning high praise both in Japan and internationally. His pieces often portray scenes of Tokyo's landscapes, tourist destinations, and seasonal changes, admired for their delicate expressions.


The differences between Hasui Kawase and Kōitsu Tsuchiya
