【Important notes】
・International Buyers: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
・Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These duties are paid to your country's customs office and not to us. Prompt payment of these fees is necessary to ensure delivery of your item.
・We deeply value your understanding regarding the blade's export process. The duration to secure an export permit might extend up to a month, and shipping, based on the destination, could take an additional month. In some instances, sea freight may be chosen, which might lengthen the delivery period to 2-3 months.
・Considering the diligence required for export permit procedures, we'd like to emphasize the importance of commitment after purchase. If the auction is annulled post-confirmation, there's a need to retract the said permit. In such situations, to cover administrative efforts, a fee equating to 10% of the auction's final amount would be requested via PayPal.
・We kindly request bids from those who fully acknowledge these conditions. Please be informed that the original registration document is required to be returned to official authorities, so a copy will be provided with the sword.
・Austria, Belgium, and UK prohibits the import of swords, so please refrain from bidding.
【Product details】
This Edo period wakizashi is a fine example of Japanese craftsmanship, featuring a lacquered scabbard and presented in a velvet bag. The blade showcases a stunning "gunome-midare" hamon, characterized by its irregular, wavy patterns, and "tobi-ba," which are leaf-shaped patterns within the hamon. The tip displays a "kaen" style, resembling flames, and the tang end is in the shape of a chestnut.
The sword comes with a copy of its Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate, as the original document will be returned to the authorities. The certificate details are as follows: Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate Aichi Prefecture No. 49443, type: wakizashi, length: 30.3 cm, curvature: 0.3 cm, peg hole: 1, no inscription, issued on Showa 50 (1975), August 20.
Please note the absence of a handle. There is rust on the blade. The lacquer on the scabbard has scratches, chips, and cracks. Please refer to the photos for a detailed condition assessment. The display stand is not included.
Length of the blade: 42 cm
Total length including scabbard: 52 cm
