Caperdonich 21yo Peated Small Batch 4th Release
Single malt whiskies from the Caperdonich distillery are rather rare to find. Original bottlings from the distillery, which was closed in 2002 and demolished in 2011, are even rarer, as there were virtually no original bottlings. In 2019, the owner of the Caperdonich brand, Chivas Brothers, decided to bottle small batches of the remaining casks in a special series exclusively for travel retail. Batch CP/004 was bottled on 24.10.2021.
The Caperdonich 21yo Peated Small Batch Release matured in fresh American oak casks and was bottled after 21 years of storage at 48.0% vol. and without chill filtration.
A barrel that will delight both bourbon and scotch drinkers.
Nose:
Strong bourbon floral scent, fresh and sweet ebony plum, lightly roasted peanuts, light wood aromas.
Taste:
Thick and sweet toffee, orange scent surrounds the mouth.
The tongue is very pleasant and spicy, very plump and smooth, no woody notes, no strange smells.
Finish:
Long, very long, high quality long, sweet with pleasant spices and woody notes.
A very successful and well-balanced batch with a nice smoke, rich fruit aromas and a nice spiciness. The drinking strength is well chosen
