Duemani is an important Tuscan viticultural reality that was born from the idea of the famous oenologist Luca d'Attoma and his wife Elena Celli to produce elegant wines from international varieties, made by embracing the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The winery, founded in 2000 in Riparbella, in the province of Pisa, is located in a magnificent area close to the Tuscan coast. Luca is responsible for the vineyard and the wine, thanks to his profound preparation and experience, while Elena is the commercial and administrative driving force of the estate.
The Duemani winery consists of 12 hectares of vineyards located within an uncontaminated natural amphitheater, where the soils are mainly made up of clay, with a high presence of stones, and the altitudes are between 200 and 300 meters above sea level. sea. The international Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot vines are bred here, which have found an exceptional habitat in this slice of Tuscany rich in Mediterranean scrub and lapped by Tyrrhenian sea breezes. Furthermore, the considerable solar radiation and the important daily temperature variations during the ripening period of the grapes contribute to the extraordinary quality of the grapes. To preserve the health of the territory and at the same time enhance its unique expression, Luca and Elena immediately chose to follow the dictates of biodynamics. Different types of wine containers are used in the processing and aging of wines, such as terracotta amphorae, cement vats and French oak barrels, depending on the label in question. The fermentations occur spontaneously and the masses are not subjected to clarification or filtration operations.
The interpretations of the Duemani estate by Luca d'Attoma and Elena Celli, almost exclusively monovarietal, manage to combine the fascinating characteristics of international vines with the identifying personality of the Tuscan coast. The result is enveloping and expressive wines, of rare pleasure and class. At the top of the range are the 'Duemani' and the 'Suisassi', respectively a pure Cabernet Franc and a Syrah, varietal and territorial quintessences.
2019 “Le Lucere” Brunello di Montalcino San Filippo:
The Brunello di Montalcino Le Lucere di San Filippo was produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes. The reference vineyards are located on soils of Eocene origin, of calcareous-clayey matrix, at an altitude between 270 and 310 meters above sea level. The harvest was carried out in the first days of October, with a yield of 60 quintals per hectare. The red vinification included a 2-day cold pre-maceration at a temperature of 10°C. The alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with maceration of the must on the skins for 10-12 days at 26-28°C. The refinement lasted 24-28 months in barrels and barriques and 10 months in the bottle.
